The Parent Trap is a 1961 Walt Disney film starring Hayley Mills, Maureen O'Hara and Brian Keith.
Identical twins Susan Evers and Sharon McKendrick meet at summer camp, unaware that they are sisters. It's hate at first sight and their identical appearance initially creates rivalry. After the girls continuously pull pranks on each other, the camp administrators place the the girls together in an isolated cabin for the remainder of their summer camp. After both admit they come from broken homes, they soon realize they are twin sisters and that their parents, Mitch and Maggie, divorced shortly after their birth, with each parent having custody of one of them. Wanting to get to know and ultimately love the parent they never met the twins switch places. While Susan is in Boston masquerading as Sharon, Sharon goes to California pretending to be Susan.
Summer Movie Sundays are proudly presented by the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority as part of their Life's A Beach Summer in the City event.
