- Go to a new park far away from your regular spots
- build a giant sandcastle and then all jump on it
- make a lemonade stand
- have an afternoon with just the radio on and singing and dancing along
- freeze bananas, grapes or strawberries and dip them in chocolate
- let the kids do all the cracking, stirring, rolling to make biscuits
- freeze some plastic toys in water and 'excavate them' (we did this Christmas day, picture below)
- draw on the driveway or sidewalk with chalk
- plan a mini road trip, out to the hills if you live in the city, to the beach if you live in the hills or out to one of the nearby towns like Bindoon, Guilderton, Pinjarra
- plant a herb garden and spend a day smelling and cooking with the results
- make home made ice cream
- go to a farmers market
- go to a museum
- watch the sun set over the ocean
- make friendship bracelets
- try a new food
- jump in puddles after a Summer storm
- eat a huge slice of watermelon
- throw a coin into a wishing well
- write a letter to grand/great grand parents
- have a waterballoon fight
- go on a boat ride (Rottnest, kayak, even the ferry that goes from Perth to South Perth)
- make mud pies
- have a picnic
- share a sundae
- make leaf art
- run under a sprinkler
- go to a pier and watch the boats going past
- roll down sand dunes
- plant bright flowers in a pot and leave them on a neighbours doorstep
- make your own pizzas
- spend a whole day at home in your pyjamas
